4 Cheap Players for Your Football Fantasy Team

I usually run out of money after setting up half my team. It’s an annoying, but it’s unfortunately not possible to copy the FIFA World XI team to the fantasy football team, lean back and then wait for the bragging rights to roll in.

Everyone needs to take some chances by adding cheap players into the mix. But which ones to go for?

I’ve focused on finding players from teams in easier groups, who I believe can surprise and exceed expectations.

Here’s my list of 4 cheap players:

Kasper Schmeichel, Denmark (Goalkeeper)

Denmark has a good chance of progressing from group C. Not because of their offensive capabilities, but because they are very organised and very hard to score against. 4 clean sheets in a row leading up to the World Cup and only 8 goals conceded in the qualifier. Combined with being in a group with Peru and Australia, Schmeichel will have good chances of keeping clean sheets. And he’s a good buy at the price.

Kalidou Koulibaly, Senegal (Defender)

Genkie40 (Wikipedia)

Koulibaly is arguably on of the best defenders in the world and can play in many positions in the defence. Senegal is in one of the tightest groups without any of the biggest teams and it’s also the group with the lowest expectations of goals, so there’s a good chance of Koulibaly playing a key role in keeping clean sheets.

Aleksandr Golovin, Russia (Midfielder)

Кирилл Венедиктов

Although there’s low expectations for Russias performance in the World Cup, there’s a history for the host country to do well. And they certainly have good chances of doing well in the group stage, as it’s one of the weaker ones, with teams such as Uruguay, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Golovin is the young talent and probably the most exciting name on the teamsheet. It’s his best chance to show off his capabilities to trigger a transfer from CSKA to one of the bigger clubs.

Andrej Kramaric, Croatia (Attacker)

Kramaric was a bit of a flop in Leicester, but has since then done well in Hoffenheim, scoring 28 goals in the last two seasons. Croatia has good chances of progressing through group D and might even be able to take on Argentina for the 1st place. Kramaric scored 3 goals in the qualifier and he’s a bargain for the price.
